We’ve all been through it – the hectic race to get everything to our new place while moving, making sure everything we have and have accumulated during the years is intact and undamaged when it reaches the new destination. We’ve all had problems with finding the right vehicle, especially here in the UK where we don’t find large yank vehicles are needed, so large and bulky pickup trucks aren’t that easy to find among our friends. How many of your friends own a truck usable enough to move furniture around? Not many? For that precise reason we have companies like Removals Battersea which deal with transportation and the logistical support for people like us, who also have the right equipment and personnel to make a removal as easy as breathing for their clients. Moving to Battersea is also one of the areas they cover as well with ease.
Battersea is a district in the Inner city, very much close to the geographical centre of London. It sits on the south side of the Thames River, housing more than 70 thousand people in its fold. The area was one part of Surrey, though the name itself comes from Battersea itself, a small village on an island the river delta of Falconbrook. The island was reclaimed from the marchlands with some smart engineering and thus the settlement continued to grow in the future. Mostly farms during the Industrial Revolution, Battersea saw a great deal of development while the area was growing lavender and asparagus among other things. There were mills, breweries and dyes produced in the area during the centuries.
One of the largest firms which grew in the area was the Morgan Crucible Company, which is nowadays one of the largest producers of ceramic and carbon products for the industrial sphere. They were found in 1856 by the six Morgan brothers all working together. During the Industrial Revolution the area also became criss-crossed with train tracks as civilization and science made it possible for the area to become much more urbanized and transportation became more comfortable for the residents. In 1929 the Battersea power plant was built, supplying the area with much of its power, which even that many years later is still maintained in remarkable conditions.
If you decide to move in the Battersea area do keep in mind you should reserve yourself a parking spot to make sure you will speed up your removals process. More information on that can be found on the Borough of Battersea’s web page if you follow this link.
